Once the capital of the Kingdom of Kush, the ancient city of Meroë is graced with many pyramids to the east and a royal city to the west engulfed by beautiful dunes. Whilst growing up, I was fortunate to visit this amazing ancient city many times. Sleeping in the desert, under a sky filled with a million stars and waking up to the rising sun still surrounded by scattered stars, is a memory I will treasure forever. My affinity and love for the desert is deeply rooted in these memories.
